Parenting for Positive Self-Worth (PSSW)

The Parenting for Positive Self-Worth curriculum was developed by Cindy R. Lee, LCSW and is utilized at HALO Project International. Concepts are based on Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) and special permissions were granted from the Karyn-Purvis Institute of Child Development to create this curriculum.

Parenting for Positive Self-Worth is an eight-week, two-hour-per-week group program developed to follow Making Sense of Your Worth. HALO utilizes this program as a preventative intervention to support families and reduce the likelihood of children entering care. In 2025, Parenting for Positive Self-Worth was updated to function independently, making it accessible to individuals who have not yet completed Making Sense of Your Worth.

Parenting for Positive Self-Worth is offered to a wide range of caregivers, including:

  • Those impacted by the foster care system
  • Justice-involved caregivers
  • Caregivers of children in foster care or adoption
  • Caregivers supporting youth facing adversity
  • Any caregiver who wants to help their children grow up knowing their worth and value

This training will guide participants through the Parenting for Positive Self-Worth curriculum.
